This is a free-of-charge enrichment program for infants, toddlers, and their grown-ups to learn through play at Kids Discovery Museum. Play time takes place upstairs at the museum from 10-11am on every other Wednesday.

Dia De Los Muertos - Mariposa (Butterfly) Wings

Join KiDiMu November 2 from 9am to 3pm at the Island Gateway Plaza to make and decorate butterfly wings for the mariposa processions to BIMA for the Dia De Los Muertos Community Celebrations. There will be a tent outside with butterfly wings supplies, blue blocks to play on, and bubbles!

If you make wings and wear them to KiDiMu, your group will receive 50% off admission to KiDiMu all day.

Processionals will happen twice, just before the Community Celebration ceremonies, leaving KiDiMu at 11am and at 3pm.

After the reveal we will have “Dino merch” to purchase with the new design, announce the Dino drawing contest winner, and more! We will gather outside of the museum, and the museum will be closing at the normal time of 5:00pm that day.

National Night Out is an annual family-friendly event hosted by police departments across the nation to promote crime prevention and personal safety. The event includes informational booths with educational materials for parents, games about safety for kids, and opportunities to meet and chat with the officers who serve you. There is also free food, prizes, and impressive equipment displays featuring police cars, police motorcycles, ambulances, fire vehicles, BIPD’s police boat, and more. It will be located in the Town Square.

Kitsap Pride is Kitsap County's premier LGBTQ+ Pride event. It is a free, family-friendly event. Our main stage will feature live music, DJ, and drag performances. Kitsap Pride hosts a beer garden and a Pride store for our logo merchandise. We work with partners to provide programming for teens and youth as well. Learn More

Well-known as one of the Island’s favorite summertime traditions, the Annual Street Dance which runs from 6-11 pm on Sunday, July 3rd, is part of the Island’s multi-day Independence Day celebration. The downtown party turns the island’s main street into a pedestrian-only boardwalk, and brings thousands of local residents to Winslow Way for a chance to welcome summer with Island neighbors.
