I’ve had the joy of working at KiDiMu for 16 years, and every day still feels new. One of my favorite exhibits is the Vet’s Office—I love watching children gently care for the stuffed animals, giving them check-ups, tucking them into their beds, and carrying them around as if they were real pets. It’s a beautiful reminder of the kindness and imagination children bring with them.

My favorite event? Definitely Mini Golf! There’s just something about seeing families laugh and play their way through the museum in such a creative and unexpected way.

What’s most special to me is getting to witness children’s faces light up with excitement, connecting with families, and being part of an amazing team that makes all of it possible.

If you’re looking for our Lost and Found, just head toward the towering collection of forgotten water bottles.

If KiDiMu had its own version of America’s Got Talent, I’d nominate the Duplo Room—the cities and structures that kids build in there are incredible. They beam with pride and often ask us to put their creations on display.

And if I had a theme song? Without a doubt, it would be Pharrell Williams’ “Happy.”

I’m the Director of Education, and one of my favorite things about working at KiDiMu is how it brings a sense of joy and connection to everyone who walks through the doors—including me!

My favorite exhibit is the grocery store. As a child, playing grocery store was always my favorite activity, and now, stepping into that exhibit as an adult brings back a flood of nostalgic memories. I still love pretending to be the checkout person and scanning all the food—it never gets old!

What truly makes KiDiMu special to me is the people. From the incredible coworkers who’ve become dear friends, to the wonderful families and visitors we get to welcome every day—it’s the community that makes this place magical.

And if I had to pick a favorite event, it would be Fam Jam! It’s such a vibrant celebration of community. I love how we get to partner with so many amazing organizations to bring the event to life. Between the touch-a-truck experience, lively performances, and a variety of community booths, there’s truly something for everyone. It’s a day full of fun for the whole family, and I look forward to it every year.

I’m the Development Director here at KiDiMu—and I’ve been on the team for about a month and a half now!

What makes KiDiMu special to me is how it sparks wonder, curiosity, and pure joy for kids and grown-ups alike.

And if I ever had to lead a preschool class dressed as my favorite childhood character, you’d definitely find me as one of the Care Bears!

I joined the KiDiMu team in April as the Director of Marketing, and it already feels like home. If I had to pick a theme song for my time here, it would be “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles—cheerful, hopeful, and full of new beginnings.

If KiDiMu had an Olympic Games, I’d be taking the gold in the downhill ski race—I’ve been on the slopes since I was five, and I’m always up for a little friendly competition.

And if I had to build a new exhibit using only items from the museum’s lost and found? I’d launch “Sophina’s Super Fashion Station”—a fabulously chaotic corner where kids (and kids-at-heart) can mix, match, and model accessories and outfits for every occasion.

Every day at KiDiMu brings a new chance to play, create, and connect—and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.

I’ve spent the majority of my career supporting undergraduate and graduate students as a recruiter and program manager, with a strong focus on STEM career development. Over the years, I’ve secured funding from government agencies to launch new projects and programs, consulted on strengthening university-industry partnerships, and helped build out managerial and HR infrastructures to support growing teams. In 2019, my family relocated to Bainbridge Island as my wife and I stepped into caregiving roles for her parents. A year later, we welcomed twin boys, Rowan and Edmond. Today, the six of us share a home on the island—along with our energetic Airedale Terriers, Macallan and Harper.

I’m a Managing Director at JLL, where I’m part of the Corporate Capital Markets team. I specialize in sale leasebacks and real estate advisory services for a diverse range of clients—including private equity firms, corporations, investment banks, franchisees, developers, and family offices. My work focuses on the disposition, acquisition, and capitalization of net lease office, industrial, and retail properties across the country. With a background in law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate strategy, I bring a deep understanding of each client’s objectives and pride myself on delivering strategic, results-driven solutions.

Before joining JLL, I practiced law at Eldridge Cooper Steichen & Leach, PLLC in Tulsa, supporting both litigation and transactional clients. I also served as a Director within the Real Estate Services organization at Phillips 66 (NYSE: PSX), and later as a Senior Director at Northmarq. I hold a bachelor’s degree in English from St. Bonaventure University, where I played on the golf team, and earned my J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law. My wife and I live on Bainbridge Island, Washington, with our three kids—grateful to call this vibrant community home.

I’m the Store Manager at BIMA, where I get to combine my love of art, storytelling, and thoughtful retail experiences. Originally from Denver, Colorado, I moved to the Pacific Northwest after falling in love with the region’s natural beauty and vibrant arts community. I earned a BS in Journalism and a BA in Art History from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a study abroad trip to Paris in the summer of 2008 sealed the deal on my passion for museums, travel—and a great gift shop.

Before joining BIMA, I spent ten years working for my family’s online children’s toy store, Imagine Childhood. There, I wore many hats—from buyer and content creator to social media manager and customer support—gaining a deep appreciation for storytelling through objects and experiences.

Outside of work, I enjoy metal-smithing, fashion and visible mending, climbing mountains, horseback riding, and sailing with my family. My husband and I live on Bainbridge Island with our two adventurous young daughters.

I bring over four decades of pediatric healthcare experience and a deep passion for serving children and families to my role on the KiDiMu board. As a family and pediatric nurse practitioner, I dedicated my career to caring for young patients—serving as Chief of Advanced Practice at Seattle Children’s Hospital before concluding my clinical career at Bainbridge Pediatrics, where I worked until my retirement at the end of 2023.

My commitment to children’s wellbeing extends beyond healthcare. When my own children were young, I co-founded the Carson City Children’s Museum, recognizing the vital role interactive learning spaces play in child development and how essential they are to the communities they serve.

I’ve been a Bainbridge Island resident since 2017 and continue to stay engaged through my participation in the Bainbridge Prepares Medical Reserve Corps and the City of Bainbridge Island Lodging Tax Advisory Committee. With a lifelong dedication to community involvement, decades of pediatric care experience, memories of fun days at KiDiMu with my now-teenage grandchildren, and a continued passion for children’s museums, joining the KiDiMu board felt like a natural next adventure.

As a mother and educator, I care deeply about the well-being of children and am passionate about ensuring all young people have access to excellent educational opportunities. This commitment has shaped my career and now inspires my service on the KiDiMu board.

After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Public Communication from American University in Washington, D.C., I joined Teach For America and taught high school English Language Arts in a small town on the Texas-Mexico border. This experience left a lasting impression on me and reinforced the critical importance of high-quality education—both inside and outside the classroom. I went on to continue my teaching career in Florida and Washington.

In addition to my years in the classroom, I combined my passion for education and youth development through roles as a career counselor with Job Corps and with a workforce development nonprofit. In these positions, I supported job seekers by providing training services and helping individuals take steps toward self-sufficiency through employment.

In 2022, my husband and I relocated our family to Bainbridge Island for his Navy service. Since then, I’ve enjoyed exploring the museum with our three children, facilitating the MiniMu program, and experiencing the enrichment KiDiMu offers. I am thrilled to be part of the board and contribute to the museum’s mission of inspiring creativity and learning in our community.
